What is Ashwagandha?

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is een groenblijvende struik die vooral bekend is binnen de Ayurveda. Het kruid staat ook bekend als Indiase ginseng en winterkers. De naam ashwagandha wordt vaak vertaald als ‘paardengeur’, verwijzend naar de aardse geur van de wortel en de traditionele associatie met vitaliteit.

Ashwagandha-extract en withanoliden

In supplementen wordt ashwagandha meestal gebruikt als extract.
